Our SIA team collaborated with local homeless shelters in Plainfield to provide needy and hungry individuals with weekly snack bags. Our goals for this project were to work with multiple homeless shelters to learn more about the conditions of homeless people in our community and try to put smiles on their faces by recognizing their needs. We have made our snack bags a monthly occurrence, and we have been extending this project by placing other items that will last longer times in the bags; these include winter clothes like gloves and socks. This ensures that the snack bags have a longer effect and better benefit the citizens. We have been able to distribute  fruit cups (600 count), granola bars (600 count), water bottles (600 count), and many more items to date.
